“Cooking is an art, and a fine one at that”, said the most famous German cookbook author Henriette Davis. This sentence seems to have also been the inspiration for Gaggenau Hausgeräte GmbH. For 330 years, the company has been developing and selling kitchen appliances, thus offering the art of cooking a suitable setting. And the Munich designers from eins:33 GmbH did justice to this, coming up with an unusual booth concept on a footprint of 306 square metres for the kitchen giant at the imm cologne 2013: In a showcase, they skilfully combined the presentation aspect with the storage dimension. To present two different oven series, for instance, the designers developed two parallel rows of moveable filing cabinets made of black MDF sheets in which the appliance combinations were installed, either vertically as columns or horizontally as bars. This allowed visitors to grasp the differences and individuality of the two series on various levels.
